Hey Nov. 15th, 2005 @ 08:01 pm
Hey everyone!
I'm really hoping this group can help us out. There are 3 of us reps here at KU (that's Kansas, not Kentucky). This is the first semester that we've been dropped from the presentation schedule. We've been having an extremely difficult time recruiting students for this great internship! We only had 4 students show up for our presentation last spring. It wasn't too much of a surprise when we found out they weren't coming this year, just extremely disappointing. We did, however, get 12-14 students to attend our info session that myself and the other reps hosted in October.

For the schools that continue to get big numbers (which we did back when I first attended a presentation), what are you doing on campus? We've hung posters, chalked, sent out emails, hosted info tables, we have an awesome contact in career services now. What kind of advertising are you finding to be the most effective? We're just really really stumped as to why our numbers have been falling. This year we helped recruit for a local community college's presentation, plus we're also telling students about the e-presentation (though separately, so we don't confuse anyone).

Any unique ideas out there? We need help!!!

Good evening and welcome to the Grand Floridian... Nov. 9th, 2005 @ 09:08 pm
Well... maybe not...

Anyway, my name is Sara and I am a campus rep at Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus in Brookville, NY. I was on my program in fall advantage of 2003 and have been a campus rep ever since! I love it! Going back on friday to get my holiday goodies!

I worked as a merchandise hostess at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The big white set of buildings on the monorail trail... not that you guys didn't knwo that ^_^;; One of my favorite things there was to work at the Gingerbreak House during Christmas. So cool! I miss it... alot!

Anyways, that's all for my intro! Whoever made this group is a saint!

Hey! Nov. 9th, 2005 @ 05:59 pm
My name is Megan and this is my second year of being a Campus Rep for Eastern Illinois University. I did the program Spring '04 and Summer '05, both times doing Quick Service Food and Beverage at the All Star Sports Resort. I loved where I worked, and my boyfriend and I are planning a trip there next fall to visit everyone.

This group is a great idea, and I will have to tell the other 4 reps here at EIU about it. We had 60 people at our presntations and had 33 interview. 22 were offered internships out of the 33. We've already had our Offer Session as well and have our Send Off Party coming up in a week (since finals would make it hard to have that after Thanksgiving Break).

Hiya!!! Nov. 9th, 2005 @ 04:21 pm

My name is Laura and I am a Campus Rep at Illinois State University. It's my first semester Repping here at ISU, but my third year as a Rep. I'm a transfer student. I did my Program through my Community College in Spring of '03. After returning from the College Program, I did my time as a Rep at my Community College for two years until I transfered here to ISU.

While on the Program I worked at the World of Disney in Downtown Disney. I had an absolutely wonderful time and I can't wait to go back down upon my graduation and work there for forever :o)

We had 3 presentations this semester. Since it's my first semester here, the communication between myself and other members of the Rep team was a little lacking. Needless to say, our numbers weren't the greatest. Hopefully communication is something we can work on next semester to really boost our numbers.

We're having our Offer Session tonight and I am so excited. The Offer Session is one of my favorite elements of the recruiting process :o)

It's nice to meet you all and I look forward to sharing tips and tricks with you. Have a good one!!!

First, I just want to say thank you for making this community! I'm Elizabeth, Campus Rep at Oklahoma State University for about a year and a half. My program was Fall '03 and I worked at MGM at Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. I really miss it. Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

Hi fellow CP alums!

My name is Kendall. I joined this group because I'm a Walt Disney World College Program Campus Representative Alumni (phew, that was a lot of words to get out in one sentence) and wanted to be able to help out new Campus Reps with ideas for recruitment on their campus. I was a Campus Rep for a year, and was the only one at my college, Barry University from 2003-2004.

I did my first College Program, Fall Advantage 2002, working at the Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise Attractions in Magic Kingdom. I did an Advanced Internship in Spring 2003 working for the College Education Team at Vista Way. When I went back to Miami to complete my degree, I was a DJ for Radio Disney AM 990. After graduation, I came back up to Orlando to pursue another College Program, Spring Advantage 2005 in Entertainment Character Performers. I got promoted in July to my current role, as a Management Intern, for Magic Kingdom Custodial Operations.

I am very, very, passionate about the College Program because its my roots within the Company and would love to be able to meet fellow Cast Members who are planning on spreading the magic at thier universities, and hopefully someday returning back to the Walt Disney World Resort for a career. :)

Look forward to hearing from you all soon and can't wait to meet the new students you are recruiting for Spring!
» Hello!
Hi! My name is Heather, I'm a campus rep at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This is my second semester as an official campus rep at my school, even though I came and helped out a bunch with presentations and stuff as soon as I returned to school from my program. I did my program spring of 2004 working as a hospitality hopper at Pop Century. I think this group is great, it would be a great way to offer suggestions on marketing and sharing information. I know my reps and I would find anyones suggestions extrememly helpful, we're somewhat of a smaller campus so getting large numbers to attend can sometimes be a challenge. However, in our two presentations this semester, we were very pleased with our numbers. Look forward to seeing what information we can all share here!

Hey everyone!

My name is Ashley and I am a campus rep at the University of North Alabama. This year we had two presentations. The first one was at 2 p.m. on October 31 and then the second one was November 1 at 7 p.m. We did quite well and to our suprise we had more people show up to the 2 p.m. presentations than the later one. I am very glad that someone made a campus rep community! I did the program Spring 2004 where I worked at the Tower of Terror Attraction with some Fantasmic and Parade shifts mixed in there.

Have a Magical Day!

I made this community basically because I was surprised that there wasn't a Campus Rep LJ community, and I thought it might help.

We (Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, TX) had our presentation last night and had a great turnout--I thought it might be helpful to have a forum in which to trade best practices, ask advice, etc. etc.

Please spread the word to any campus reps you know! :)
